The 11th Annual Central Florida Fall EggFest set for November 1 at Wekiva Island

Grill master? Big Green Egg enthusiast? Simply looking for some great food and beautiful weather? There’s only one place to be on Nov. 1—Central Florida Fall EggFest at Wekiva Island.

The event is a celebration of all things related to the Big Green Egg grill. Egg lovers, known as eggheads, can showcase all their tips and tricks. Lucky attendees get to taste the results, learn some tricks of their own, and maybe even become an egghead themselves.

This is the 11th year for the event, which will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets are $35 in advance and $40 at the door. The event is rain or shine, and the Island will be closed to all but ticketholders during that time.

“With fall weather and this incredible riverside location, Central Florida Fall EggFest is always one of our favorite events of the year,” said Peter Weller, event organizer. “A day like this just screams for grilling, and there’s no grill like the Big Green Egg.” 

Those who do plan to fall in love with the Big Green Egg can score great deals on the eggs used to cook during the event. These can be purchased in advance on the event’s website or at any of the three Sanford Ace Hardware stores.

Egghead hopefuls can enjoy presentations from Ron Dimpflmaier and The BBQ Nerds. Jason Alan will perform live music. There will also be tickets available for great giveaways.

Proceeds for the event benefit Keep Seminole Beautiful and the Wekiva Wilderness Trust to keep the river and community clean.

Central Florida Fall EggFest is an annual event that allows fans of Big Green Egg grills to show off their cooking skills, while tasters sample the variety of dishes they prepare. The event is not a competition but is instead a celebration of the special culture fans of the ceramic charcoal grills have built. EggFest includes cooking demos, live music and great food. Attendees can also purchase the demo eggs used during the event at a discounted price.

The event takes place at Wekiva Island, 1014 Miami Springs Dr., Longwood, and benefits Keep Seminole Beautiful and the Wekiva Wilderness Trust.
