Bursting onto the scene in 1979 at the height of disco’s radio domination, "Breakfast in America" was a surprise hit with its prog rock roots and grounded melodies. It swiftly topped the charts with four international top 10 singles and became one of the most iconic albums in rock history. From the catchy lyrics and rhythmic playfulness of “The Logical Song” to the endearing near falsetto vocals of “Goodbye Stranger,”
Breakfast in America left an indelible mark on the hearts and minds of music lovers that still resonates today. “These albums are historic and stand the test of time,” says Craig Martin, who founded Classic Albums Live in 2003. Skipping the costumes and impersonations, the project has earned massive popularity by concentrating solely on the music. “We don’t dress up or wear any sort of costume. All of our energy is put into the music. We want the performance to sound exactly like the album,” says Martin.
With over 100 shows a year, Classic Albums Live has become an audience favorite at performing arts centers and theaters across North America. “We created something that endures and connects,” Martin says. “These albums are sacred to people. We deliver exactly what we promote - ‘note for note, cut for cut’ accuracy.”
