Space on Tap: Are We There Yet? brings comedy, audience interaction and cosmic questions to Ace Cafe Sanford

Enjoy a fun, engaging night of space exploration, storytelling, and conversation featuring astronauts and experts discussing humanity's next giant leap, happening July 8 at Ace Cafe Sanford.

Hosted by Brendan Byrne, award-winning science journalist and host of 'Are We There Yet?', Space on Tap transforms conversations about science and exploration into unforgettable nights out.

Part live show, part community gathering, and part behind-the-scenes look at the storytelling behind 'Are We There Yet?', Space on Tap invites you to experience science in a way that's engaging, entertaining, and deeply human.

No science degree required, Space on Tap: Are We There Yet? comes to Ace Cafe Sanford on Wednesday, July 8, 2026.

Whether you're fascinated by rocket launches, inspired by innovation, or simply looking for a unique night out, you'll leave with a new perspective on our place in the universe and the people working to expand our understanding of it.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with music by DJ CUB. Main Event begins at 7:30 pm.

Following the show, guests are invited to continue the conversation over dinner and drinks available for purchase beginning at 8:30 pm.

What’s it like to have coworkers on Mars? University of Florida astrobiologist Amy Williams works with NASA’s Curiosity and Perseverance rovers hunting for signs of ancient life. Her team is getting closer than ever to finding evidence of past life on the red planet. We’ll discuss those efforts and what questions still remains about life in our universe — plus a look at some of the indistinguishable similarities between Earth and Mars.

Then, it’s the debut of Trivia Vox Pop! A space trivia showdown where the audience shapes the questions. Are We There Yet? host Brendan Byrne faces off against The Orlando Shine’s Brendan O’Connor in a trivia game where the audience helps decide the answers to questions about space in popular culture. Which Brendan will reign supreme space trivia wiz?
