BATSU! brings Japan's outrageous comedy style to Tampa, where comedians face off in wild challenges to avoid hilarious punishments like electric shocks, paintballs, or a giant egg-smashing chicken
Comedy, competition, and chaos collide in BATSU! A Japanese game show comedy featuring fearless comedians, unexpected punishments, and an unforgettable night of laughs.
Comedy Warriors compete in ever-more ridiculous challenges, with losers suffering ever-more humiliating punishments, in BATSU!, which brings the hilarity and manic pacing of Japanese game shows to the stage.
Contestants who lose a challenge can be subjected to punishments such as electrical shocks, paintballs and a giant, egg-smashing chicken.
The show has been running in New York City since 2011, has played sold-out runs in London and Edinburgh, and is currently enjoying a long run in Chicago.
Reviews tend toward superlatives such as “our favorite thing we’ve ever seen” (Playbill), “ridiculous, hilarious, sexy and gross” (The Wee Review) and “one of the best things to do in New York City” (CBS New York City).

BATSU! comes to Tampa from March 3 - 8, 2026 at Straz Center's Jaeb Theater.
Tickets are available now for this unique comedy experience intended for audiences 18+.
The bravest audience members may volunteer (upon signing a waiver) to participate in some of the challenges to win honor or suffer punishment. In the end, there will be only one winner and the rest will receive BATSU!.
