The national travel group AAA predicts that Orlando and Central Florida will once again be the No. 1 travel destination this Memorial Day holiday, and the early projections at Orlando International Airport (MCO) support that prediction.

The unofficial start to the summer travel season is underway with Orlando International expecting a 6 percent increase in passenger traffic for the six-day travel weekend. Just under a million travelers are expected at MCO between Thursday, May 23, 2024, and Tuesday, May 30th. The busiest travel day is projected to be on the actual holiday, Monday, when nearly 177 thousand passengers will move through MCO.

Travel Tips

Passengers are advised to follow the 3-2-1 rule for ease of travel. Arrive at your airline ticket counter at least 3 hours in advance.

Head to security processing at least 2 hours prior to departure and arrive at your gate at least 1 hour prior to boarding.

Also, always remember to pack your patience and never bring weapons through the security checkpoint.

Take advantage of MCO Reserve to book a time to go through airport security for eligible flights. The MCO Reserve service is open from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m.

There are several parking options.

Garages A, B and C, North Park Place, South Park Place and West Park Place. To see location and rates, visit MCO Parking.

Parking is also available at three surface lots across from the Train Station. The lots are accessible with E-Pass and SunPass Plus. SunPass customers must be enrolled with Easy Pay, and a transponder must be used to enter and exit the lots.

Passengers may also reserve a parking space by logging into Reserved

Parking at MCO or using the MCO mobile app in advance of their arrival to the airport. Users can simply punch in their vehicle information, make a payment and receive a QR code for easy access to Level 4 of Parking Garage C.

If you are picking someone up, please do not circle the airport or linger at the curb. Have your party call when they are ready for pickup. Please wait in the North Cell Phone Lot at 8730 Jeff Fuqua Blvd.; the South Cell Phone Lot at 10546 Jeff Fuqua Blvd; or the Travel Plaza at 10505 Jeff Fuqua Boulevard until your guests arrive.
