Bray Muhammad, known artistically as Straight to Voicemail

Bray Muhammad, known artistically as Straight to Voicemail, is a multimedia artist whose work pulses with emotion, surrealism, and unapologetic Black expression. From poetry and music to tattooing and makeup, Bray has lived a creative life in full, embracing each medium as a new language for her evolving story.

Living with a rare physical disability, Bray has long used art as both therapy and truth-telling. A way to transform vulnerability into resilience. Her process begins in the dream world: vivid, symbolic visions that become the blueprint for her emotionally charged, quirky, and deeply personal work. Each piece bridges the spiritual and the tangible, layering paint, texture, and mixed-media elements to build immersive worlds that feel alive.

Straight to Voicemail's work celebrates the beauty of being raw, complex, and human, filtered through the lens of Black surrealism and a spirit that refuses to be silenced. It doesn't just speak, it vibrates, inviting viewers to feel, reflect, and dream right alongside her.
