Renaissance Theatre Company is staging Mean Girls at its temporary downtown home at 54 West Church Street from January to March 2026, isn’t that so fetch?

It's been a tough few months for Orlando based Renaissance Theatre Company, what with being forced to close the theatre companies home after failing their annual fire inspection.
The closure occurred during the Ren’s largest annual production, Nosferatu, and financial losses exceeded $500,000.
The company has remained afloat thanks to the generosity of Board Member Chris Kampmeier, who has been joined by 350 donors who have given more than $55,000 to the beloved non-profit.
Thankfully The Ren was able to find an alternate venue for its Halloween show, Nosferatu thanks to the folks at The Plaza Live.
Then as the holidays were getting ever closer and constructions issues went on, the City of Orlando came through, and offered The Ren a temporary new home just in time for the theater to put on its beloved original seasonal hit The Office Holiday Party Musical Extravaganza Show.
The Ren's temporary home is at 54 W Church St. in the space formerly occupied by Fringe ArtSpace (also the former home of Mad Cow Theatre), and now the tehater is kicking off its latest production, he regional premiere of the hit movie-turned-Broadway-sensation, Mean Girls.
Mean Girls (the famous musical comedy penned by Saturday Night Live Legend Tina Fey) opens January 16, and marks a tangent for Renaissance Theatre Company, known more often for large-scale immersive productions.
“The timing of all of this feels a little like kismet,” says Ren staff member Abby Cash who is slated to choreograph Mean Girls. “I’ve always loved this show so when we saw that it became available for licensing recently, we applied as quickly as we could. Even though it’s not really the kind of show we would typically produce in our normal venue, it’s perfect for this downtown space.”
Mean Giurls turns the iconic high school saga you know and love into a laugh-out-loud, glitter-packed spectacle with killer songs, big feelings, and even bigger pink energy. From savage one-liners to heartfelt moments about friendship, identity, and finding your voice, this show proves that fitting in is overrated—and being yourself is totally fetch. Whether you’re a die-hard fan or a total newbie, this musical will have you laughing, singing, and checking the Burn Book all the way home.
