New Hotel, Conference Center and more, to be built adjacent to AdventHealth in Ivanhoe Village

It's been revealed that a new building is to be constructed adjacent to AdventHealth in Ivanhoe Village, Orlando.

The Gateway Building will be home to a 150-room hotel together with a conference center, a restaurant and retail space, plus other amenities.

The structure will be located on the corner of East Princeton and North Orange Avenues, the gateway into AdventHealth’s Health Village in Orlando.

The new 14-story development will be constructed by The ONIX Group, a hospitality, health care and commercial real estate services firm will also include medical offices leased by Advent Health.

The hotel will be situated at the top of the Gateway building, and will offer a selection of spacious studios and one-bedroom suites. The suites will feature everything an individual needs to feel right at home – comfortable living rooms, stylish bathrooms and fully equipped kitchens.

For further relaxation and wellbeing, a specially curated selection of meditation and mindfulness content will be available to stream in all rooms, and in the 24-hour fitness center.

For guests seeking an extra level of fitness, specialty rooms will be available with top-of-the-line fitness equipment.

Other hotel amenities will include a sky lobby with a magnificent view of downtown Orlando, an artificial turf activity lawn and an outdoor pool.

Construction is expected to begin soon with an opening scheduled for fall 2026.

The Gateway building is another step in building the long-term vision for the 172-acre Health Village. That vision calls for Health Village — the home of AdventHealth Orlando, AdventHealth for Women and AdventHealth for Children — to be not only a center for medical innovation and excellence, but also a dynamic community where people live, work and play.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with the ONIX Group to bring high-end hotel lodging to Health Village, where families of patients, and visitors to the area from Central Florida and beyond, can stay in convenient comfort,” said Rob Deininger, CEO of AdventHealth Orlando. “Having loved ones close during a hospital stay helps our patients heal, not just in body, but also in mind and spirit. And at the same time, it helps ease the stress of medical treatment on patients’ families.”

Below the hotel, medical offices that will house AdventHealth medical services will be located from the second through fourth floors. Cushman & Wakefield, a global real estate services firm, will lease commercial space from the fifth through eighth floors. A state-of-the-art conference facility will be located on the ground floor. This conference space is flexible and can be easily configured and scaled to any group’s needs. The Gateway conference experience will be built upon a high-definition, multimedia platform including a customizable video wall and international broadcasting capabilities.

Two hundred and twenty-five construction jobs will be created as a result of the project. Upon completion, the hotel, conference center and commercial tenants will create 850 new jobs, bringing an estimated $65 million economic impact to the area.

Construction of the 14-story, 270,846-square-foot building will begin in spring 2024, and the building is scheduled to open in fall 2026. The Gateway mixed-use structure is a $90 million investment. The project is being developed and owned by the ONIX Group. The architect of the project is NORR, and the general contractor is Batson-Cook. AdventHealth will be the anchor tenant and is leasing several floors in the building.
