New Experience - The Great Florida Road Trip rolls into ICON Park on International Drive

The latest addition at the entertainment destination ICON Park on I-Drive is The Great Florida Road Trip.

International Drive's ICON Park has officially opened it's brand new interactive experience The Great Florida Road Trip.

The new experience takes place on the entertainment complex’s 400-foot tall observation wheel, simply known as The Wheel, using a special camera which contains infrared technology, guests aim at postcards on the rooftops below and compete for points to win a prize.

“This new experience is inspired by the original features that put Florida on the map,” said Chris Jaskiewicz, ICON Park president and CEO. “The Great Florida Road Trip is the first interactive gaming experience that you can play on a 400-foot-high observation wheel. Weaving together new technology with nostalgia, this experience was designed for people of all ages to enjoy. Parents and grandparents will love the vintage appeal, and kids can put their gaming skills to the test.”

The 45 different post cards that guests will look for include iconic Florida attractions, including Silver Springs’ glass bottom boats, Florida Flamingoes, a Daytona car racing, the Everglades and many more.

“The Great Florida Road Trip.” takes visitors on a nostalgic vacation through midcentury Florida – before the era of sprawling theme parks and resorts. Part game, part educational opportunity, this experience puts the spotlight on Florida’s legacy as an entertainment and tourist destination.

Guests will be taken on a journey that highlights the historic locations that have beckoned visitors for decades.

Each participant will receive a camera like device to photograph destinations and earn points while raking a ride around The Wheel. A “winner” from each capsule will receive a $5 gift card to be used in the “In the Game Arcade” inside the wheelhouse.
