Universal Islands of Adventure's award-winning, full-service restaurant, Mythos, that is such a fan-favorite, offering modern cuisine with Mediterranean, Asian, and American-inspired dishes will soon be no more, with Universal Orlando Resort confirming it is to close permanently.

Not only is Mythos closing, but the entire land that the restaurant is located in will be permanently closing.

In news that has long been speculated, Universal Orlando Resort has officially announced that in the coming months, all venues and experiences within Lost Continent will permanently close in phases to make way for a new themed area. This will include the closure of Mythos Restaurant in 2027.

Islands of Adventure's Lost Continent opened alongside the park in 1999 as a land themed to ancient mythology and legends. Today the Lost Continent is a shadow of its former self. In 2018, the lands stage show ,The Eighth Voyage of Sinbad permanently closed, with the stadium lying empty ever since.

In 2010, Universal Orlando transformed a large section the land into The Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Hogsmeade. This included the fan-favorite Dueling Dragons, a roller coasters that reopened as the Dragon Challenge before permanently closing to make way for Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure in 2017.

Then in 2023, Poseidon's Fury, a hugewalk-through attraction that featured special effects, fire, and water stunts, permanentlyshuttered in 2023.

With Universal Orlando Resort confirming that Lost Continent is to permanently close for a new land, speculation now turns to what they have planned for the land.

The most persistent rumors have for some time suggested a massive Nintendo-themed land, with either a Pokémon or The Legend of Zelda land.

Another strong rumor is a land themed to the popular Wicked franchise. Other rumors include Netflix's One Piece, Chronicles of Riddick, or The Lord of the Rings, although these seem less likely.

Another option would be an expansion of the existing Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade.

Whatever Universal Orlando has planned hopefully we won't have to wait too long to find out what. will replace Lost Continent.
