Kai - Asian Street Fare, the award winning Asian fusion restaurant located in Winter Park is now a chain, opening its second location in Oviedo within the Oviedo Food Factory at Oviedo on the Park, located at 888 City Walk Lane.
Serving a mixture of ramen, Korean Fried Chicken, Thai drunken noodles, garlic noodles and more all under one roof, the new Oviedo location will join a delicious mix of unique micro-restaurants all housed under the one roof at the Oviedo Food Factory, including The 1 Cantina Oviedo, The Local Hen, Buttercrust Pizza, and Press Waffle Co.
Kai - Asian Street Fare opened in 2018, the restaurant is the brainchild of Thai-born Isra Sunhachawi and his Vietnamese brother-in-law, Quan Van. Found in a Winter Park shopping center, the space is tiny and simple, offering seating for a handful at a dark granite counter as well as at a few tables. Everything is freshly prepared, and the room quickly fills with the sounds and scents of the crew at work.
The concise menu never loses focus, and regulars are well aware that it's all about stir-fried noodles and spicy Korean-style chicken wings. Ramen is also a treat, like the tonkotsu shio, featuring a richly flavored, slow-simmered pork bone broth, stocked with toothsome, thin and wavy noodles, slices of tender, lean pork belly, a shoyu egg and a host of other tasty additions.
