Orlando’s own professional resident ballet company, Orlando Ballet, accompanied by the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra, will perform Giselle this weekend, wrapping up the ballet comapnies successful 2024-25 season.

The magical Giselle will take to the stage at Dr. Phillips Center’s Steinmetz Hall from May 1- 4, 2025.

Experience the embodiment of romantic ballet…a touching tale of innocent, unrequited love and betrayal; of the philandering Count Albrecht and a trusting peasant girl, who, even with a weak heart, has a love for dance. Giselle, who after her premature death, appears as a ghost to protect her beloved from a group of evil spirits…even beyond the grave. Afterall, love has no end.

Giselle features beautifully updated choreography by Artistic Director Jorden Morris and Associate Artistic Director Lisa Thorn Morris, honoring the original work by Jean Coralli and Jules Perrot while bringing a fresh perspective to this timeless ballet.

First performed in 1841, Giselle is one of the most treasured—and technically demanding—romantic ballets in the world. From the ethereal Wilis to Giselle’s heartbreaking descent into madness, every moment has been staged to tell a story full of love, betrayal, and redemption.

Lisa Thorn Morris’ career includes performing works by legends like Balanchine, Ailey, Tharp, and Petipa—and now, she’s crafting unforgettable performances for the next generation. A former principal dancer and award-winning choreographer, she brings decades of experience and artistic depth to this reimagined production.

With updated choreography and storytelling at its core, this Giselle promises to move you in every way.
