Summer comes early with Sublime headlining the first-ever Brightside Music Festival, taking place this Saturday, April 27 at the Orlando Amphitheater within the Central Florida Fairgrounds.

Sublime will be headlining the festival fresh from back to back performances at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in California with original members Bud Gaugh and Eric Wilson, together with new frontman Jakob Nowell, who has taking over from his father, original band singer Bradley Nowell, who sadly died of a drug overdose at age 28 in 1996,

The one day Orlando festival will also feature performances from 311, Goldfinger, Story of the Year, Face To Face, Save Ferris, Unwritten Law, Zebrahead and more.

The legendary ska punk band, Sublime took to the main stage at the annual Coachella music and arts festival on April 13, and April 20, with Nowell’s son Jakob stepping in for his father, performing at the same age his dad was when he passed.

Together with original Sublime band members Bud Gaugh and Eric Wilson, they stormed through a set featuring all of the hits. They played ‘Romeo’ for the first time since 1998, to which Jakob said the song “has not been played in like 100 years.”

In a nod to his late father, Jakob played with his custom guitar and Mesa Boogie amp during an electric set that included classics like “Bad Fish,” “Santeria” and “What I Got.”

BRIGHTSIDE is one of the first announced festival appearances for the recently reunited Sublime, a band that has sold over 18million albums in the U.S., with their genre-defining music and cultural influence is stronger today than ever before.

In addition to the music, the festival will offer craft beer sampling as a $10 add-on purchase, showcasing the best local, regional, and national craft beer, hard seltzer, and cider.
