In honor of Orlando’s 150th anniversary, the Orange County Regional History Center offers a glimpse into some of the most fascinating and rarely seen items from the city’s history with our newest special exhibition, Orlando Collected.


November 1 - January 11

Twinkling lights, themed trees, and timeless holiday charm — “A Dickens Christmas: The Urban Family’s Holiday Exhibition” is back at the Appleton Museum of Art, Ocala. Visitors can enjoy beautifully decorated themed trees, the ever-popular Dickens Village miniature, an extensive nutcracker collection, handmade Santas from around the world, and much more.


June 6 - January 6

Dawoud Bey’s Evergreen depicts haunting images captured at the Evergreen Plantation of Wallace, Louisiana. Installed across three video channels, the work scans the grounds of the most intact plantation complex still standing in the United States. The work captures swaths of trees and the remnants of living quarters of the historically enslaved Black people.


Dinos in Lights at Orlando Science Center

November 8 - January 6

Celebrate the magic of the holiday season at Orlando Science Center with a dino twist. Gaze upon Stan the T. rex and his fossil friends in a festive light show set to holiday music. Don't forget the wintery surprise at the end!

The exhibition includes 100 watercolors by FWS members selected by a distinguished juror, award-winning watercolor artist, Matthew Bird, whose work has been featured in major art magazines.

Dr Phillips Center is turning its frontyard, Seneff Arts Plaza into an enchanting winter wonderland full of free festive fun all month long, including live entertainment, holiday movies on the big screen, visits with Santa, eats and treats, holiday crafts, nightly tree lighting ceremony and snow flurries, plus so much more!

Downtown Winter Garden transforms into a magical Holiday Wonderland as the sights and sounds of the season complement its historic small town-charm. On select dates enjoy holiday events, live music, projection light shows, street performers, and more that add to the festive Normal Rockwell-like ambiance.

The City of Altamonte Springs and Duke Energy celebrate the tradition of lighting up Cranes Roost Park with live music, entertainment, fireworks, train rides, along with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Watch as the park comes alive with spectacular holiday displays featuring 200,000 lights and a 60-foot tree decorated with thousands of ornaments and garland.


November 1 - December 31, Select Dates

Dezerland Park Orlando transforms into a Christmas Wonderland holiday experience, where guests can ice skate, meet Santa and his elves, and enjoy hands-on holiday fun for all ages. Families will discover festive activities including toy-building workshops, train rides, holiday photo opportunities and more.


Holidays at Disney Springs

November 14 - December 31

Looking for a place to check off all the boxes on your little one’s Christmas list? Disney Springs is the place to be to find classic Disney merchandise, souvenirs and trends from some of the world’s most popular brands during the holidays, as well as world-class restaurants, casual eateries, family-friendly activities, live entertainment and unforgettable late-night fun for adults. Disney Springs is the perfect spot for holiday shopping, alongside dazzling decorations and the popular Disney Springs Christmas Tree Stroll. Now Snowing, Central Florida’s original and premier “Snowing” event, offers one of the area’s only synthetic ice rinks, special community performances by some of the area’s top young talent, and special concert events throughout the season. Now Snowing in Celebration is a month-long Winter Wonderland Spectacular featuring strolling Charles Dickens style Carolers, photos with Santa, horse drawn carriage rides, train rides, ice skating, and nightly snowfall.

Enjoy an expanded holiday light spectacular at Hillsburgh County Fairgrounds that will envelop you and your family in an enchanting environment blanketed in more than a million lights from entrance to exit. Young and young at heart will enjoy the nearly 2 mile drive-thru immersive experience of continuous light features followed by a festive walking visit to Santa’s Village, full of attractions, holiday goodies and visits with Santa!

Join the Promenade at Sunset Walk for our annual Holinights Celebration, featuring Santa Claus and his Mischievous Elves, towering toy soldiers, and the nightly lighting of the 40-foot animated Holinights Christmas tree at 6:30 pm.

Wekiva Island’s long-awaited Winter Wonderland is back again, and we’re excited to celebrate the festive season all December long. In addition to our well-loved activities like daily “snow” flurries, the Christmas tree forest and our 30-ft tall tree, and visits from your favorite Christmas characters, and Santa is inviting all the good boys and girls to his Workshop, right here at Wekiva Island!

Toys collected benefit the Osceola Council on Aging, so it stays local. Santa will be stopping by and will be available for photos with a $10 donation.

The Orlando Half Marathon was established in 1977 by the City of Orlando Recreation Department titled the 'Tangerine Bowl Half Marathon'. The City of Orlando, Florida Citrus Sports Association, and Track Shack Events jointly produced the half marathon for many years.Track Shack Events took ownership of the event in 2012. The Winter Park Chamber of Commerce is proud to host the 73rd annual Winter Park Ye Olde Hometown Christmas Parade. The event has been held each December for more than 70 years, making it the oldest continuous holiday parade in Central Florida. Each year the parade travels down Park Avenue, starting at Cole Avenue and proceeding south, ending Lyman Avenue. More than 80 organizations participate including marching bands, local police and fire departments, scouting groups, local dignitaries and, of course, Santa Claus.
