Talkin’ Tacos, a food truck turned fast-casual Mexican eatery from Miami will open in SODO at Eco Plaza located at 3123 South Orange Ave, Ste. 106 on Friday, November 17.
Talkin’ Tacos, a food truck turned fast-casual Mexican eatery based in South Florida serving up scratch-made, innovative, and Instagram-worthy Mexican dishes, will open their first Orlando location in SODO at Eco Plaza located at 3123 South Orange Ave, Ste. 106 on Friday, November 17.
The franchise restaurant will host a grand opening celebration from 6-10 p.m. on opening day, November 17, with the first 100 guests in line receiving a free order of the concept’s signature Birria Tacos.
The new 1,700 sq. foot restaurant will feature indoor seating for 48 guests. Their chef-driven menu will feature an array of guest-favorites such as Birria Tacos, Birria Ramen, Southwest Chicken Tacos, Birria Pizza and Street Corn in a Cup. A hallmark of the menu is the beef birria which is braised each day for 12 hours before completing the cooking process. A Talkin’ Tacos meal is capped off with desserts like loaded Churros, Tajin & Chamoy gummies and homemade specialty beverages including lemonades, horchatas and mangonadas.
“We’re thrilled to be opening a Talkin’ Tacos in the foodie city of Orlando,” said Hassan Rahim, Talkin’ Tacos franchisee. “Although Orlando is a tourist destination, food is a huge part of that equation. There’s a void for a unique Mexican restaurant that not only infuses a Miami vibe into the experience, but the service is also quick without compromising on quality. There’s nothing like us in the area and we can’t wait to share our love for tacos with the community!”
The restaurant’s radiant atmosphere features hand painted murals and neon signs providing an upbeat yet laid back vibe. Technology features include self-serve kiosks where guests can place their orders efficiently, eliminating the cashier position and allowing faster speed-of-service.
The location is owned and operated by 38-year-old entrepreneur Hassan Rahim who is also Director of Technical Product Management for Nike’s Sports Science Platform. After dining at a Talkin’ Tacos’ South Florida location and experiencing the ambiance and food, he knew he had to get involved. Rahim will open a second Orlando location in the summer of 2024 and will also be the franchise partner in Washington DC which will open Q1 of 2024.
Talkin' Tacos started out as a food truck during the height of the COVID pandemic in 2020. As the brand and food truck’s popularity quickly grew, the never-ending lines prompted the expansion into a brick-and-mortar space in Miramar in 2021, a second restaurant later that year in Miami’s Brickell neighborhood and the first franchise location in Jacksonville which opened July 2023. The brand currently has five corporate locations and is expanding rapidly with franchise locations also opening in Tampa, Washington DC and New York and corporate locations opening in Doral, Aventura, Pembroke Pines, and Davie.
Talkin’ Tacos Orlando will be open Monday - Sunday 11 a.m. – 10 p.m.
