No more digging for coins. No more racing back to the meter. Just park, pay, simple.

Downtown Orlando Parking Meters are retiring this summer as the city moves to All-Digital Parking

Starting this week, the City of Orlando is launching the first phase of its parking modernization initiative by retiring on-street parking meters and transitioning to a fully digital parking system.

Throughout the summer, parking meters will be removed in phases across Orlando. Drivers will continue to park in the same on-street spaces but will pay digitally using the ParkMobile app, Pay by Text, or by calling the number listed on the newly installed signage and following the prompts.

Since 2015, the City of Orlando has partnered with ParkMobile to provide a faster, more convenient cashless parking option for drivers. Building on the success of its first meterless parking in Creative Village in 2019, the city is now expanding its digital parking program citywide. As parking meters are removed, these digital payment options will become the exclusive way to pay for on-street paid parking. This transition will allow drivers to extend parking sessions remotely, provide additional payment options and offer digital receipts. In addition, drivers can get up to two hours of free parking by using the ParkMobile app code, ParkDTO.

The transition is designed to make parking easier while improving accessibility, curb turnover, safety and overall operations. Going digital also reduces maintenance costs, eliminates aging equipment and creates a more efficient parking system for residents, professionals, businesses and visitors.

During the phased rollout, some parking meters will remain in place temporarily while new signage is installed. A second phase of the modernization effort will launch on October 1, 2026, when updated on-street parking hours, pricing and enforcement policies take effect.

Meter Removal Schedule:

  • Phase 1: SoDo and Orlando Health vicinity

  • Phase 2: South Eola neighborhood (east of Rosalind Avenue and south of Central Boulevard)

  • Phase 3: Remaining downtown meter locations between Colonial Drive and Anderson Street, and Garland Avenue and Rosalind Avenue
