Yet another longtime Orlando eatery has closed its doors. Daybreak Diner has announced via social media that it has permanently closed after 27 years of serving delicious comfort food to hungry locals.

Describing themselves as "a little old school a little new school but feels like home," the hometown diner announced that it was temporarily closing on June 12 for renovations, but it seems that this was not the case, and instead of a re-opening announcement, Daybreak Diner has sadly decided to shutter forever.

The social media post on Daybreak Diner's Facebook Page reads, "It is with great regret that I must bid farewell to all of our friends and family that we have established over the past 27 years. We are deeply grateful and thankful for all of you."

No reason for the closure was revealed, but the news comes on the back of another longtime Orlando diner closing forever. with College Park Diner, one of the oldest eateries in Orlando deciding to close permanently.

Closures of local businesses are happening more and more regularly, and with rising costs, staffing problems, and an unpredictable economy, we're sure more will follow.

Curry Ford West, the 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that promotes the residential and commercial district. commented on the closure of Daybreak Diner, "After 27 years of pouring coffee, serving up comfort food, and anchoring our mornings with a sense of home, Daybreak Diner is closing its doors. This news hits hard. For many in Curry Ford West, Daybreak was a place where memories were made, where regulars became family, and where a warm welcome always came with your eggs and toast."

The organization went on to make a plea for residents to support local, "Small businesses are the heart of our community, but the reality they face today is tougher than ever. Rising costs, staffing struggles, and unpredictable markets are pushing even our most cherished staples to the brink.

Let this be a reminder: when we choose to support local, when we do so we’re investing in neighbors, in dreams, in places that make our community feel like ours."
