Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom is getting a new color palette inspired by the original look of the castle

Cinderella Castle was painted in the current pink color palette in 2020, for the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World, but will now be returned to its original gray palette.

Today at the Beyond the Spires: An Insider Look at Disney Castles panel at the Destination D23 event at Walt Disney World, it was announced that Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom will be receiving a new/old paint scheme!

Yes, for those of us that have just got used to the new warmer pink colors of Cinderella Castle, the iconic centerpiece of Magic Kingdom is getting a new color palette, inspired by the classic and original look of the castle.

The updated paint will feature grays, creams, blues, and touches of gold aiming to enhance the castle’s architecture.

Concept art of the new/old paint scheme was released at the panel, although no date was announced when the work will start or indeed be completed.
