Canned food sculptures now on display through Oct. 18 to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida.

Imagination and generosity took center stage at Dezerland Park Orlando this weekend as teams of local architects, engineers and designers came together for CANstruction Orlando, transforming thousands of canned and nonperishable food items into larger-than-life sculptures—all to help fight hunger in Central Florida.
This marks the first year Dezerland Park Orlando has hosted the community-driven event, which supports Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida and coincides with Hunger Action Month, a national campaign to raise awareness and inspire action against hunger.

The 2025 theme, “Cantastic Tales: Stories that Feed Hope,” invited participants to bring beloved folktales and fables to life through imaginative, can-built creations. Teams built their intricate sculptures live on Saturday, Oct. 11, and the finished works are now on display inside Dezerland Park through Friday, Oct. 18.
“CANstruction is such a powerful example of creativity in service of community,” said Jaime Figueroa, general manager at Dezerland Park Orlando. “We’re proud to host this inspiring event and to help make a tangible difference for local families.”
After the exhibition, each structure will be carefully “de-CANstructed,” and every can used will be donated to Second Harvest Food Bank to help families in need through its network of more than 750 nonprofit feeding partners across seven Central Florida counties.

CANstruction is part of a worldwide initiative that has donated millions of pounds of food to hunger-relief organizations since its inception, blending design, engineering and social responsibility to make a difference in communities everywhere.
