Breeze Airways press pause on service between Orange County, Florida & Orange County, California

Low-cost airline Breeze Airways began offering non-stop flights between Orlando, Florida and Santa Ana, California earlier this year, but the service is being paused until early next year.

Breeze Airways began flying non-stop between Orange County and Orange County on February 16, 2023 using A220-300 aircraft.

The route saw weekly flights from John Wayne Airport (SNA) in Santa Ana, California, to Orlando International Airport (MCO) and vice versa.

At the time the new route was revealed it was advertised as flying Disney to Disney for only $69 each way!

The route was due to pause over the quieter winter months on November 14, with service resuming on February 14, 2024., but now Breeze have moved the date forward to October 3, 2023.

Breeze say that the decision is in part due to Santa Ana’s John Wayne Airport requesting airlines reduce flights until February 2024.

As the service is being paused early, guests impacted will receive a full refund to the original form of payment within 7-10 business days. If you booked using BreezePoints, those will be credited back to the Guest account used to book the reservation.

This is the first time that Orange County in California had ever had an Orlando route, in fact, Orange County has never had any routes to Florida at all!

For Orlando travellers this is an exciting option as it gives a direct route to the theme parks in California, including Disneyland Resort, Universal Studios Hollywood, Knott’s Berry Farm, and Six Flags Magic Mountain, and for SoCal locals this is a great choice to enjoy a vacation to Walt Disney World Resort, Universal Orlando, or SeaWorld Orlando.
