Boom by the Bay returns to Tampa to celebrate Independence Day

Boom by the Bay is the Tampa Downtown Partnership and City of Tampa’s official annual Fourth of July event that brings festivities to Julian B. Lane Park in Downtown Tampa. Attendees can enjoy Fourth of July activities, and marvelous fireworks from this spectacular waterfront destination.

Boom by the Bay Hard Rock Takeover of Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park is Tampa’s premier Fourth of July celebration, featuring family-friendly activities, live entertainment, apple pie bake off, a fireworks display, and more!

This FREE City of Tampa tradition kicked off in 2019 to celebrate Independence Day, with this year's event returning on Saturday, July 1, 2023.

Highlights of this year Boom by the Bay include a pickle ball tournament, an apple pie bake-off, a free concert, family zone activations with face painting, bounce houses, sack races, and corn hole, there will also be tons of food trucks, and of course spectacular fireworks

“While fireworks will grace the sky, Boom by the Bay is about so much more than that,” said Mayor Jane Castor. “It's a chance for our community to gather, connect and appreciate the beauty of our city and the spirit of togetherness. This will be a highlight of the summer." Shaun Drinkard, Interim President of the Tampa Downtown Partnership added, “We’re looking forward to an all-day, family-friendly party on July 1st. Whether it’s with the classic all-American favorite apple pie or the new all-American obsession of pickleball, you’ll find activities for everyone.”

Festivities on the day begin at 4 pm and will end with a boom as fireworks light up the sky at dusk. Whether it’s live entertainment, kids games, food trucks or good old American fun this event has something for every member of the family.

Admission is free and the entire family is welcome, including four-legged members!
