Big moves are underway in Downtown Orlando at 30 S. Orange and the Lake Eola Gateway Entrance

City leaders plan to create a safer and more vibrant downtown for residents and visitors in downtown Orlando.

Big moves are happening in Downtown Orlando. Back in March the City of Orlando announced that they have closed on the purchase of four downtown properties, including 30 S. Orange Ave and 205 + 215 East Central Boulevard, marking a major milestone in revitalizing downtown Orlando.

The City of Orlando has now anounced that the cities Community Redevelopment Agency has officially released the Request for Proposals (RFP) for future design-build services at the 30 S. Orange and the Lake Eola Gateway Entrance, marking a major milestone in bringing the DTO Action Plan to life.

The 30 S. Orange site will be reimagined as a vibrant public space. It will feature a dynamic mix of landscaping, art, and placemaking elements that invite people to linger, connect, and enjoy DTO.

The properties at 205 + 215 East Central Boulevard will be used to create the Lake Eola Gateway Entrance, expanding Lake Eola Park.

This Lake Eola Gateway Entrance project is more than just a park entrance though, It’s part of a larger effort to invest in public spaces that create meaningful, welcoming experiences for everyone - whether you're walking to work, visiting downtown for lunch, or spending a Sunday exploring the Lake Eola Farmers Market.

The DTO Action Plan outlines a bold vision for creating a downtown that is walkable, active, and inclusive. Through this plan, the city is prioritizing investments that elevate quality of life, promote community engagement, and support a thriving urban environment.
