$400 Million construction project underway to transform Orlando's Camping World Stadium

Construction is now underway at Camping World Stadium including rebuilding the upper seating sections and modernizing concourses, with the ambitious project scheduled for completion in the summer of 2027.

This new $400 million project is funded entirely by the Tourist Development Tax—also known as the “bed tax”—which is the 6% fee added to hotel and short-term lodging stays in Orange County. In November 2024, Orange County Commissioners approved the funding to move the project forward.

Camping World Stadium’s renovation will optimize the operations of the venue to support a wide range of sports and entertainment programming, ultimately increasing economic impact, creating more jobs and enhancing the quality of life for residents.

This investment marks the next chapter in the stadium’s evolution. The proposed renovations are designed to:

  • Maximize seating mix to include a minimum of 65,000 seats, and improve the functionality of the stadium, to maintain and attract new events

  • Improve upper seating bowls to modernize and increase lifespan

  • Elevate fan experience from stadium campus arrival to departure

  • Modernize and improve stadium systems

  • Maximize operational flexibility of the stadium and campus for a variety of events

  • Create a Multipurpose Event Center for attracting new standalone events and expanding the footprint for stadium events

  • Add improvements designed to enhance the venue’s competitiveness

Since Camping World Stadium opened in 1936, it has hosted thousands of events and welcomed millions of fans. Over the years, it has been updated many times to stay modern, remain competitive and attract high-profile sporting events and concerts.

A massive reconstruction in 2014 ($207.7 million) followed by sizable upgrades in 2021 ($60 million) radically transformed the stadium. Now, the stadium is being reimagined for the future with a major improvement project to be completed in the summer of 2027. At that time, almost every part of the stadium will have been rebuilt since 2014.

Since 2014, the stadium has brought numerous milestone events to Orlando—like WrestleMania 33, six NFL Pro Bowls, several FIFA Club World Cup matches, Monster Jam World Finals, three annual bowl games and sold-out concerts by artists like Paul McCartney, the Rolling Stones, Bad Bunny, The Weeknd and Stray Kids. These events generate huge economic benefits, including $181.5 million from WrestleMania in 2017, $125 million from EDC Orlando in 2022 and roughly $45 million each year from the NFL Pro Bowl.

These latest upgrades will elevate the artist, athlete, promoter and fan experience well into the future by improving comfort, capacity and technology. Upon completion, this thoroughly modernized stadium will fortify Orlando's ability to host bigger, better and more in-demand events while delivering an undeniable return on investment.
