  • Orlando City Soccer Club unveils its new Jersey, designed to honor the teams fans!

Inspired by the passionate supporters that rally to defend Orlando City's fortress, Orlando City Soccer Club has unveiled a brand new team kit, called the Wall Kit. Leading into the 2023 Major League Soccer (MLS) season, Orlando City SC has revealed its new primary jersey, the 2023-24 The Wall Kit. Inspired by the thousands that pack the Club’s first-of-its-kind safe-standing supporter section at Exploria Stadium, the kit draws its namesake from the section’s moniker and pays homage to the fans that rally week in and week out to defend our fortress. The Wall Kit is now available for purchase at The Den at Exploria Stadium or on OCMobileShop.com, with options to pick up at The Den. Fans around the globe can also purchase The Wall Kit on MLSStore.com. “Our supporters have continuously served as the heartbeat of our stadium, from the moment they begin their march down Church Street to the continuous drumbeat that paces our players all 90 minutes,” Orlando City SC CMO Pedro Araujo said. “We are proud to unveil a kit that represents and pays tribute to the loyalty, passion and energy that they bring each match. We’re excited to have our fans ‘Man Every Wall’ - from the front row to the top of stadium and all around our 360-degree bowl - as we get the season underway and show why our supporters are the best in Major League Soccer.” The jersey features the Club’s iconic purple and — the year after Orlando City hoisted the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup trophy — incorporates metallic gold embellishments that carry through the jersey, shorts and socks. Adorning the front of the jersey is a pattern replicating that of a wall, an embodiment of the Lions’ supporters: the individuals that come together, brick by brick, to form an object stronger than the sum of its parts. Designs on the stitching, neck and Jock Tag reminds all fans to “Man Every Wall”, a long-lasting Club rallying cry for everyone, in all 25,000 of the venue’s seats, to unite and bring the energy of the Central Florida community in supporting its home Club. Proudly displayed in metallic gold across the front of the jersey is the Club’s presenting partner, Orlando Health, marking the 13th-consecutive year that the Official Medical Team is featured on both the primary and secondary jerseys. The jersey was unveiled by the Club’s aforementioned supporters, including members of Ruckus and Iron Lion Firm, as well as First Team players Antonio Carlos and Favian Loyola, on Saturday night at the Club’s final Kickoff to Soccer event, the Block Party at the Wall, presented by Orlando Health. The Lions begin their 2023 regular season, presented by Orlando Health, on Saturday, Feb. 25 at Exploria Stadium, hosting the New York Red Bulls in a 7:30 p.m. ET kickoff. As previously announced, general public tickets for The Wall have sold out for the season opener, with a limited number available to new full or half Season Ticket Members. Tickets for that match, as well as information on Season Ticket Membership and group ticket options, can be purchased here.

  • With a legendary performance from Orlando's Tymisha Harris, Josephine is coming to The Ren Theater

With new scenes, an amazing live band, and a legendary performance, Josephine is coming home to Orlando. Local legend Tymisha Harris is bringing her critically-acclaimed Josephine musical to Orlando's Renaissance Theatre Company from March 9 through until 19, and tickets are on sale now. Josephine, performed by Tymisha Harris and created by Tymisha Harris, Michael Marinaccio and Tod Kimbro, is a one-woman biographical musical that combines cabaret, theatre and dance to tell the story of the iconic Josephine Baker, the first African-American international superstar and one of the most remarkable figures of the 20th Century. After debuting at the 2016 San Diego Fringe Festival, Josephine has been wowing audiences ever since, including an off-Broadway run at Soho Playhouse, where it sold out performances and received high critical acclaim. For the off-Broadway run, Tymisha Harris was nominated for a 2018 Vivian Robinson AUDELCO Award for Outstanding Solo Performance. "Even after seven years, the show continues to evolve," says Harris. "With the release of new classified intelligence from WWII by the French a few years back, we learned much more about Josephine's time as a spy, and we wanted to incorporate that into the play. With other changes, the expanded show now runs a full 90 minutes. Orlando is my home. It's always been my favorite place to debut new material, and I knew the Ren would be the perfect place for us to make our homecoming with this new version." "At Renaissance Theatre Company, we champion original work created by local artists," adds the Ren Co-Founder Donald Rupe. "Josephine is written, directed and performed by some of the most talented artists in Orlando, and it tells a beautiful story about one of history's most iconic performers. We're so proud to feature this work on our stage." Before Ella, Tina, Billie Or Beyonce there was Josephine: the first African-American International Superstar. About Josephine Baker Born in St. Louis in 1906, Josephine Baker achieved only moderate success in the United States, but became an international superstar after moving to France in the early 20’s. She starred alongside white romantic leading men in films in the 30’s, had multiple interracial marriages and homosexual relationships, and performed in men’s clothing before the term “drag” existed in the lexicon. She was also a spy for the French Resistance, a civil rights activist, and the mother of 12 adopted children from 4 continents. Her success in France and Europe often gave her the opportunity to live freely without the racial oppression of her home nation, though she never stopped yearning for acceptance in America. Josephine is playing select nights March 9-19, 2023 at the Run, (Renaissance Theatre Company) located at 415 E. Princeton Street, Orlando. Tickets are priced at $30. To purchase tickets and for more information, visit www.rentheatre.com.
