Walt Disney World have revealed that four new Global Marketplaces are coming to this years International Food & Wine Festival at EPCOT as part of the Disney100 Celebration. The EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival is right around the corner, returning to Walt Disney World Resort later this month, starting July 27 and continuing through November 18, 2023. Today, Walt Disney World have revealed new details on this years festival including new merchandise, and news that Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and Beaker of The Muppets will be joining the International Food & Wine Festival at EPCOT this year! Plus, exciting news as the resort has revealed that four new global marketplaces celebrating the 100th anniversary of Disney are coming to this years EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival 2023. The new global marketplaces will not premier when the festival opens later this month, with Disney saying only that the four new marketplaces to commemorate the Disney100 celebration will open later this fall. The new global marketplaces are, Char & Chop, Wine & Wedge, Bubbles & Brine and Swirled Showcase. Also revealed today was the news that Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and Beaker of The Muppets will be joining the International Food & Wine Festival at EPCOT this year with their own “Brew-Wing Lab” — inviting guests to taste new flavors. Don your lab coats and prepare to experiment with delicious flavors as Brew-Wing Lab at the Odyssey invites guests on a flavorful adventure, featuring the culinary creations – and madcap mishaps – of Muppet Labs! That’s right – Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and his faithful assistant, Beaker, of Muppet Labs will welcome you to their taste-testing headquarters, where the inventive duo are busy creating scientific snacks and mind-blowing beverages. You’ll have a chance to sample some of their kooky concoctions like the Unnecessarily Spicy, Yet Extremely Tasty Scotch Bonnet Pepper-Curry Wings, or the Pickle Milkshake. Consider it a flavor experiment in the name of science! Sound awesome, but not sure about the concoctions the duo have cooked up! SoDough Square, the Detroit style pizza shop located on Michigan Street, Orlando have fired up the ovens on a second location in Winter Park! SoDough Square the hugely popular Detroit Style Pizza shop has added a second location, with the authentic taste of the Motor City now available in Winter Park! Founder Robert Bair, creator of many successful startups including Gringos Locos, Tin & Taco, Neon Beach and now SoDough Square, grew up in Detroit and since introducing DSP (Detroit Style Pizza) to the Orlando foodie scene in May 2022, everyone has been going crazy for SoDough Square's authentic Detroit style square pizza! Orlando has only been beaten by Las Vegas as the 2023 Best City For Recreation in a new survey by Wallethub, although we gotta ask, who knew Las Vegas had so much recreation to enjoy other than gambling? After 19 years, Sand Serpent will be permanently closing at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay tomorrow, July 9 to make way for new attractions. You only have until tomorrow, Sunday, July 9 to zip, zoom and climb five stories into the air until we say farewell to SandSerpent at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay for the last time! Busch Gardens had previously announced that SandSerpent, the wild-mouse style family roller coaster located in the Pantopia area of the park is being permanently retired after 19 years to make way for an exciting new attraction. SandSerpent is a fun-filled family coaster that zips, zooms and climbs five stories into the air, and Buch Gardens are giving everyone one last chance to ride before the coaster is closed forever. Sand Serpent manufactured by Mack Rides is a Wild Mouse roller coaster that was originally operated at sister park Busch Gardens Williamsburg. The ride first opened in Williamsburg in 1996 as Wild Izzy, before a quick name change in 1997 to Wilde Maus, when the ride operated in the park until 2003. The roller coaster was relocated to Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, and opened in 2004 as, Cheetah Chase, before receiving its current name in 2011. Sand Serpent reaches a maximum height of 45.9 feet (14.0 m), with a maximum speed of 28 miles per hour (45 km/h), and a total length of 1,213.9 feet (370.0 m). Today is the final day that guests can meet Merida in her Fairytale Gardens in the shadow of Cinderella's Castle in Magic Kingdom. Earleir this year Walt Disney World announced that a Mirabel meet and greet was coming to Magic Kingdom. With work set to commence soon on the transformation of Merida’s Fairytale Garden into a Encanto meet and greet location for Mirabel, today, Saturday, July 8 is your last ever chance to meet Merida in her Fairytale Garden before the area closes forever to be transformed for Mirabel. The good news is that Merida is not disappearing from Magic Kingdom, she will be moving to a new home in the park from tomorrow. The new Mirabel meet and greet area is set to open this Fall.
