Held in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, the exhibit highlights the richness, diversity, and cultural contributions of Hispanic communities through visual art.


Your Art could be part of the Hispanic Heritage Month Exhibition in the Terrace Gallery at Orlando City Hall 

The City of Orlando is seeking local artists to showcase their work in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month in the Terrace Gallery at Orlando City Hall.


Art has long served as a vital expression of Hispanic culture, and the City is proud to continue this tradition by presenting an annual exhibition that honors the diversity and richness of the Hispanic experience.  


For the 2026 Hispanic Heritage Month art exhibition, local visual artists are invited to submit artwork inspired by this year’s national theme: “UNIDOS, SOMOS MÁS” / “TOGETHER, WE ARE MORE.” 


The theme celebrates unity as a source of strength within Hispanic and Latino communities while honoring shared values such as resilience, family, culture, and service.

IMPORTANT DATES:  

  • Submissions are due by Sunday, August 2, 2026, at 11:59 p.m.  

  • Artist notification date: August 4, 2026 

  • The 2026 visual arts exhibit will run from September 4 to November 5, 2026.  


HOW TO SUBMIT: Interested artists must submit their application through the Call to Artists website orlando.gov/HispanicHeritage


To be considered, please include the following: 

  • Up to four images of artwork in JPG format that reflect the 2026 exhibition theme 

  • A brief description of each submitted artwork, including how it relates to this year's theme 

  • Artist legal name (as it should appear on the gallery label) 

  • Artwork title 

  • Year created 

  • Dimensions 

  • Medium 

  • Social media handle


SELECTION CRITERIA:

  • Appropriateness: Alignment of artwork with the theme and goals of the exhibit  

  • Communication: Ability to express concepts visually and in writing  

  • Presentation: All 2-D artwork must be “Wall Ready,” with D-rings or wire, with no visible damage to canvas or frame 

  • Professionalism: Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and meet deadlines  


ELIGIBILITY: 

  • Open to artists residing in Central Florida. 

  • Artwork must be original and created by the submitting artist. 

  • Artwork must be available for display during the exhibition dates.
