With alcohol consumption at an 85-year low, more and more Orlando locals are embracing Dry January - and Winter Park’s Superica, located at 415 S. Orlando Ave, STE. 211, Winter Park is making it easy (and delicious) to do so.

 

The restaurant is kicking off the new year with a lineup of creative, alcohol-free cocktails that prove going dry doesn’t mean going boring. From the smoky-sweet Frida’s Eyebrow to the floral and refreshing Texas Starlight, these mocktails are as visually striking as they are flavorful, and well worth a visit to Winter Park's Superica.

Superica has shared a few recipes which readers can easily recreate at home.


Frida’s Eyebrow

This N/A cocktail was created by Kelly Williams at Superica Strawberry Hill.


Recipe:

2 oz Lyre's agave

1 oz grilled orange juice

½ oz lime juice

1 oz morita-hibiscus syrup


Method: Combine all in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake well and strain into margarita glass and top with fresh ice.


To make grilled orange juice: Cut oranges in half. Grill cut side down on wood-burning grill. Allow to cool. Juice and add half barspoon of salt per quart of juice. Store in cooler for up to 3 days.

 

Texas Starlight

This is the N/A version of the Tex Mex classic the Texas Star!

Recipe:

o  1 oz Lyre's agave

1 oz Giffard Elderflower N/A

½ oz lime juice

1 oz. grapefruit juice

¼ oz morita-hibiscus syrup

¼ oz agave nectar


Method: Combine all in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake well and strain into margarita glass and top with fresh ice.
