USA Today 10Best Awards has named Mako at SeaWorld Orlando as the best roller coasters in the US

Here in Central Florida we know that we have the best roller coaster in the world, and USA Today 10Best Awards have just named an Orlando Coaster as the best in the nation.

Earlier this year USA Today 10Best Awards compiled their top 20 list of coasters in the nation, before asking the public to vote for the best, with 7 of the nominated coasters here in Central Florida:

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT

Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure at Universal's Islands of Adventure

Iron Gwazi at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay

VelociCoaster at Universal's Islands of Adventure

Mako at SeaWorld Orlando

Revenge of the Mummy at Universal Studios Florida

TRON Lightcycle / Run at Magic Kingdom

With the results in, Mako at SeaWorld Orlando has been crowned the winner of best roller coaster in the country for 2023.

Guests looking for thrills at SeaWorld Orlando will find them aboard Mako. Orlando's tallest and fastest coaster which gets its name from one of the world's fastest sharks – appropriate for a thrill ride reaching speeds of 73 miles per hour.

The only other Central Florida coaster named as winners in the top 10 list are Iron Gwazi at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay which has came in at number 4.

Combining the best elements of steel and wooden roller coasters, the hybrid Iron Gwazi at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay is named for a mythical half-lion, half-tiger beast.

Taking the place of the park's Gwazi dual-track wooden coaster, the Iron Gwazi packs in a lot more adrenaline-pumping thrills than its predecessor, leading off with a 91-degree drop from its 206-foot-tall peak, followed by corkscrews, inversions and top speeds of 76 miles per hour.
