Updated Parking Hours, Higher Rates and New Ways To Pay roll into Downtown Orlando on October 1

City Of Orlando launches Phase II of Parking Modernization, with updated parking hours, rates and ways to pay.

The City of Orlando will launch the second phase of its parking modernization initiative on Thursday, October 1, 2026, bringing updated parking hours, rates and ways to pay designed to improve accessibility, curb turnover and convenience throughout downtown Orlando. 

Beginning October 1, updates include: 

• On-street parking hours: Paid parking hours will be 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday-Saturday. Parking will remain free overnight from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m., on Sundays and city-observed holidays. 

• On-street rates: The first and second hours will increase by $1, and the third hour, where applicable, will increase by $2. 

• Garage and lot rate changes: The first four hours will remain at $2 per hour, with each additional hour at $3 and a daily maximum of $20. Event rates may vary based on proximity to event activity. 

• More time to pay citations: The period before a late fee is assessed will increase from 14 to 21 days. 

The city will also provide a three-week education and warning period for the updated enforcement hours. Additionally, areas where parking meters are removed will receive a three-week grace period for meter-related violations, allowing parking staff to educate customers about the changes and available digital payment options.

On-street pricing changes will also begin rolling out as new parking signs are installed and drivers should always check posted signs for the current rate and time limit. 

Phase II builds on the city's transition to cashless on-street parking that began this summer with the removal of on-street parking meters. Customers can pay digitally through the ParkMobile app, by text or by calling the phone number posted at the parking location.  

With more than 9,000 spaces available in city garages and lots, off-street parking remains an option for longer stays and downtown events. The modernization initiative is designed to create a more efficient parking system while supporting safer streets, improved curb management and better access to downtown businesses, residences and destinations.
