Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights 2025 to feature the first-ever Fallout Haunted House

As the countdown to Universal Halloween Horror Nights (HHN) continues, Universal has announced that “Fallout” is coming to this year's Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights in both Orlando and Hollywood.

Just days after revealing that Five Nights at Freddy's is coming to this year's HHN, Universal has now announced that for the first time ever, horror fans will step into the post-apocalyptic wasteland of Prime Video’s Fallout.

Fallout is an American post-apocalyptic drama television series created by Graham Wagner and Geneva Robertson-Dworet. Based on the role-playing video game franchise created by Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky,[a] the series which is set to return for its second season this December, stars Ella Purnell, Aaron Moten, Kyle MacLachlan, Moisés Arias, Xelia Mendes-Jones, and Walton Goggins.

According to IGN, The house will be inspired by the first season of the Fallout TV show. Guests will enter Vault 33 and follow Lucy LacLean as she tries to escape a bloody massacre. They will then travel outside the vault, into the Wasteland, dodging attacks from Scavengers, Raiders, and RAD Roaches. They’ll visit locations like the Super Duper Mart, encounter the Ghoul, and meet Maximus in his “massive” T-60 armor.

IGN spoke to John Murdy, Creative Director / Executive Producer at Universal Studios Hollywood, and Matthew Flood, Senior Show Director at Universal Orlando Resort.

“As you go through these environments, we want fans to say, ‘I recognize this, I'm in a Fallout vault. How cool is that?!’ Flood said. “Where else are you going to get to say that you walked through a Fallout vault and then into the Wasteland and saw ghouls?

“And you can see and understand what the world is just by what you pass, including the bodies when Lucy first exits the vault. That type of thing is really good for us in Halloween Horror Nights and… yes, it’s gruesome, which is what our fans want at Halloween Horror Nights. It’s also scary and provides great characters, good monsters, all the mutated creatures, and the ghouls. That’s ripe for the picking when it comes to Halloween Horror Nights.”

“Fallout is kind of retro futuristic, and a lot of the aesthetics of it are very 1950s,” Murdy said. “The fact that we get to deal with the aftermath of a nuclear holocaust is very exciting for us since we've never done anything like that at HHN before. It’s like tapping into a whole different realm of horror.”

“In Orlando, we do have kind of a final battle moment,” Flood added. “I’m not going to reveal too much, but yes, T-60s will be part of that battle. We also got a chance to fit in Filly, and I think having a moment to get a real-life Fallout battle happening there is pretty cool.”

Five Nights at Freddy's is coming to this year's Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights

Universal has already confirmed that Five Nights at Freddy's, the iconic indie horror game that has captivated gamers for years, is finally making its way to Halloween Horror Nights 2025 in both Orlando and Hollywood.

Five Nights at Freddy's, the multi-media franchise centered around the popular video game series created by Scott Cawthon, is based around a fictional family pizza restaurant named Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. The franchise revolves around a security guard attempting to survive for five nights against homicidal animatronic characters.

The popular franchise has also grown to include multiple novels, and a 2023 film starring Josh Hutcherson, and Elizabeth Lail, with Piper Rubio, Mary Stuart Masterson and Matthew Lillard.

A second film is also due to be released later this year, again starring Josh Hutcherson, and Elizabeth Lail.

Universal revealed the news that Five Nights at Freddy's is coming to HHN via the Halloween Horror Nights social media channels on Sunday, June 1, "Five Nights at Freddy's is coming in a whole new way to this year's Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights in both Hollywood and Orlando. More details coming soon."

Interestingly we do not know in what capacity Five Nights at Freddy's will feature in this year's Halloween Horror Nights, but the franchise is known for its jump scares and horror elements, perfect for HHN, be it a house, a scare zone, or as Universal say, "a whole new way."
