Get ready to go bananas as Universal Orlando Resort have today, Thursday, December 8, announced that a new Minions Land, complete with attraction and cafe, plus surprise additions is coming to Universal Studios Florida in summer 2023.
The attraction will be taking over the already shuttered Shrek 4D attraction, with work already well under way on the new Minions attraction which will be called Illumination’s Villain-Con Minion Blast!
In the new attraction, guests will test their villainous skills against each other!
The interactive, blaster game experience will combine innovative screen technology, state-of-the-art gaming interactivity and elaborate physical sets that will create a one-of-a-kind, game-based adventure.
When guests step inside the attraction, they will be transported into the film’s Orlando-based Villain-Con, the biggest criminal convention on the planet, where they will compete against each other in a bid to join the ranks of the the Vicious 6, a notorious group of supervillains from the hit film, Minions: The Rise Of Gru.
The resort said those guests who are up for the challenge will grab an interactive blaster and step onto a motion-based pathway where they will earn points by blasting a variety of unique target items.
Along the way, guests will encounter immersive environments, other nefarious villains and tons of mischievous Minions from Illumination’s films.
Along with the new attraction, Universal Orlando said guests can continue their mischievous day by visiting the all-new Minions Café.
The new eatery is believed to be opening in the former Universal Monsters Cafe.
Universal Orlando says even more surprises inside the new Minion Land will be announced in the coming months!
