Universal Legacy Store permanently closing at Universal CityWalk, is an Epic Universe Preview Center opening in it's place?

One of the most popular, and unique retail locations in Universal Orlando Resort is to close forever this weekend, what will replace it?

Sad news from Universal Orlando Resort as one of the resorts most popular, and unique retail locations is closing.

Rumors have been circulating for many weeks that the Universal Legacy Store in Universal CityWalk was set to close, and adding to the rumors was the fact that Universal had began removing the stores many unique props and models over the course of the last few weeks.

The Legacy Store was a throwback to Universal of old, a retro-themed shop with merch themed to classic Universal attractions including E.T., Woody Woodpecker, an infamous shark, a ghost-hunting squad and more.

In addition to the retro merch, the store which opened in 2021 featured many unique props, models, photographs, and more.

Despite how popular the store is, the store is closing forever on Sunday, January 7, 2024.

So what will the future hold for the prime location in CityWalk? Universal Orlando have not officially commented on what will be replacing the Legacy Store, but rumors are pointing to a preview center for Universal's new theme park Epic Universe, which is currently under construction and scheduled to open in 2025.

So far Universal have been pretty tight lipped about the new theme park, but with the theme park opening next year, Universal will need to start promoting Epic Universe soon!
