During a headline performance on Sunday at rock festival, Welcome to Rockville that took place within Daytona international Speedway, Tool vocalist Maynard James Keenan, took to the stage in drag, complete with spaghetti strap shirt, blonde hair, prosthetic breasts and smeared bright red lipstick!

The gesture was seen as a protest against recent headline making Florida legislature that targets drag shows and the LGBTQ+ community.

This month, Gov DeSantis signed bills that ban gender-affirming care for minors, target drag shows, restrict discussion of personal pronouns in schools and force people to use certain bathrooms.

Republicans say that the bill is to protect children and make it illegal for businesses to allow parents to bring their kids to “adult live performances.” but critics see it as a way to ban venues in Florida from allowing children into drag shows specifically.

The measure will allow state regulators to suspend the liquor license of businesses that violate the law.
