Timucua Arts Foundation's annual International Guitar Festival showcases the global language of the guitar through diverse, world-class performances.


This year, award-winning guitarists from across the globe—The U.K., Japan, Haiti, The U.S.A., Canada, Germany, and India—blend musical mastery with cultural tradition, guiding you through genres both familiar and unexpected.


Timucua Arts Foundation's International Guitar Festival is taking place over the four weekends in August, with tickets on sale now.

International Guitar Festival Weekend One


Friday, August 1st, 7:30pm: International Guitar Festival: Chaz Underriner: The festival begins with Chaz Underriner’s pay what you like show featuring guitar, video, and electronics. What is consistent between all the works is a sense of dreaminess that creates a space for contemplation for the audience.

Saturday, August 2nd, 7:30pm: International Guitar Festival: Shankh Lahiri & Hindol Deb: The world touring Tabla artist Shankh Lahiri, and Germany-based Sitar artist, take the white house stage blending a unique sound of Indian Raga music with the colorful rhythms of Talas and the human voice.

International Guitar Festival Weekend Two

Friday: August 8th, 7:30pm: International Guitar Festival: Scout: Using harp guitar, resophonic, electric, gourd banjo, pedal steel, and classical guitar, Scout shapes and weaves concise stories with his compositions, building small worlds inside every piece. 


Saturday, August 9th, 7:30pm: International Guitar Festival: Hiroya Tsukamoto: From Kyoto, Japan, Tsukamoto delivers masterful fingerstyle guitar and evocative storytelling in immersive performances that weave lyrical narratives with intricate melodies, creating an orchestra at his fingertips.

Sunday, August 10th, 7:30pm: International Guitar Festival: Johnbern Thomas Trio: The Johnbern Thomas Trio is a jazz group led by drummer Johnbern Thomas, known for blending Haitian rhythms (like yanvalou) with jazz and other Latin styles, as seen in their album "Mesi, Merci, Thank You, Gracias". This is going to be a reunion of the Trio after 8 years.

International Guitar Festival Weekend Three

Friday, August 15th, 7:30pm: International Guitar Festival: Yves Nadeau Tribute to Larry Coryell: French-Canadian born, Yves Nadeau, is a virtuoso guitarist who lived in Orlando for a few years while he was in the band at La Nouba. He comes to Orlando to pay tribute to Larry, with some of the best Orlando area musicians, and a very special guest.


Saturday, August 16th, 7:30pm: International Guitar Festival: Christie Lenée: Acoustic Guitarist of the Year” Christie Lenée blends melodic pop, catchy hooks, and percussive textures in an experience described as “Dave Matthews meets Joni Mitchell and Michael Hedges.” She won 1st place at the 2017 International Fingerstyle Guitar Championship.

International Guitar Festival Weekend Four

Friday, August 22nd, 7:30pm: International Guitar Festival: Clive Carroll: Clive has established himself as one of the world’s premier acoustic guitar players. Blues, Irish reels and his own groundbreaking compositions.

Saturday, August 23rd, 4:00pm: International Guitar Festival: Christopher Schoelen: The program will include a set of premieres of 15 one-minute classical pieces that were composed for Dr. Christopher Schoelen in the summer of 2024 and selections from his second solo guitar album, Neo: Modernism & the Guitar.

Saturday, August 23rd, 7:30pm: International Guitar Festival: Gareth Pearson: Gareth Pearson is referred to as “The Welsh Tornado” which is particularly appropriate, seeing as this special talent combines fingerstyle pyrotechnics, with explosive lead runs making Pearson one of the most exciting acoustic musicians gigging today.
