The Maitland Jazz and Blues Festival returns in April featuring Michael Andrew & Swingerhead, Selwyn Birchwood and more!

The Maitland Jazz and Blues Festival returns in 2024 with a diverse lineup of musicians representing some of the best touring and local acts to hit the stage.

The Maitland Jazz and Blues Festival presented by Duke Energy will take place on Independence Square on Friday March 31 and Saturday April 1.

This annual free festival will showcase local and touring artists on two stages for a two day music celebration. Complement all that with great food and drinks, crafts and vendors and lots of family activities.

Bring chairs and blankets, and grab a good spot in front of the two stages. The Blues Stage will be located on the north side of Independence Square - a scenic park with a large, grassy area. The Jazz Stage will be on the south side of Independence Lane - a roadway adjacent to the park.

Headlining artists include singer, composer and producer Michael Andrew with his band, Swingerhead. Andrew was the headline singer and bandleader at the world-famous Rainbow Room atop Rockefeller Center in New York City where he entertained audiences nightly and hosted a live Radio Broadcast, “Live from the Rainbow Room.”

He was the band-leader and singer at Merv Griffin’s “Coconut Club” in The Beverly Hilton in California. He has performed in musicals and with symphonies around the country. Andrew also produced music for several films including “Inglorious Basterds,” “Heartbreakers,” and “Being the Ricardos.”

The blues lineup features award-winning, Orlando-born contemporary performer Selwyn Birchwood with his self-described “electric swamp funkin’ blues” and Miami-raised Albert Castiglia with his energetic merger of blues and rock.

Flamenco guitarist Don Soledad won top honors for best musician at Orlando’s FusionFest 2020. Steel’n Peaches is a talented group of rocking blues musicians in the mold of the Allman Brothers Band.

The funky soul groove of North Carolina-based High Flying Criminals pushes the boundaries with original and cover tunes from jazz and blues fronts. Annika Chambers and Paul DesLauriers is a married couple and award-winning music powerhouse that blends his guitar-loving jams with her gospel-inspired vocals.

The Boneshakers features longtime funk and blues guitarist Randy Jacobs and his band teamed up with Blues Hall of Fame inductee Jenny Langer. Members of the Boneshakers have performed and recorded with top artists like Bonnie Raitt, BB King, Seal, Paula Abdul, Kris Kristofferson, Ofra Haza, Tears for Fears, Warren Hill, Neil Diamond, Lyle Lovett, Keb Mo, and Bob Segar.
