Celebrate the 250th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence at Tampa's 4th of July Celebration.

On the 4th of July, 2026, our nation will commemorate and celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, and the City of Tampa is going all in on celebrating this year's Independence Day.
With one of the largest Fourth of July events in Tampa Bay — Liberty by the Bay at Julian B. Lane Park, This free, family-friendly waterfront celebration will feature a 250-drone light show honoring America’s 250th birthday, followed by a fireworks finale, along with an afternoon and evening full of activities, live entertainment, food, and fun for all ages.

Traffic Advisory: Liberty by the Bay
As part of the Liberty by the Bay event on July 4, there is some important road closures information:
Laurel Street will be closed from N. Boulevard to Doyle Carlton Drive
Green Street will be closed from N. Boulevard to Laurel Street
These closures will be in effect from 1 - 10 pm on the event day. Drivers should follow all posted detours.
Heading to Liberty by the Bay from the west?
Consider using Doyle Carlton Drive to N. Highland Avenue to E. Palm Avenue to N. Boulevard as an alternate route around the closure.
Want an even easier way to get around?Ride the FREE Jolley Trolley!
The City of Tampa will operate three free Jolley Trolley shuttles continuously throughout downtown from 4 - 11 pm.
Shuttle stops include:
Marion Transit Center, 1211 N. Marion St.
Fort Brooke Garage, 107 N. Franklin St.
Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, 600 N. Tampa St.
Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park, 1001 N. Blvd.
Parking options include:
Multiple City of Tampa parking garages throughout downtown
Limited on-site parking at Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park
Limited ADA parking at the Julian B. Lane Riverfront Recreation Center (1301 N. Blvd.) and the Julian B. Lane South Parking Lot (903 W. Cypress St.)
Visitors can also take advantage of the free TECO Line Streetcar System connecting Ybor City
and downtown or utilize rideshare services.
Additionally, heavy traffic is expected around other 4th of July event sites including Sparkman Wharf, Victory Ship, Jackson’s, Armature Works, and other popular destinations. Drivers should allow extra time for travel and be prepared for large crowds of pedestrians and visitors.

The celebration extends along the Tampa Riverwalk with additional festivities, including:

Celebrate July 4th with Friends of the Tampa Riverwalk as we host the July 4th Boat Parade, Water Ski Show, Blessing of the Fleet, and fireworks along the Tampa Riverwalk! In partnership with the City of Tampa’s Liberty by the Bay celebration, this patriotic event brings thousands of spectators together to celebrate America’s birthday on the water. This year’s theme honors America 250 as we celebrate 250 years of our nation’s history, freedom, and spirit. Decorated boats will cruise along the parade route in a festive display of red, white, and blue while competing for patriotic prizes and trophies. Boats will be judged from Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park as spectators line the Riverwalk to watch the celebration sail by.

July 4
Celebrate Independence Day in Tampa at the Heights District Fourth of July Celebration at Armature Works on Saturday, July 4, 2026. The day kicks off with a Muscle Car Show from 10 - 12 pm before the main event begins at 5 pm along the Tampa Riverwalk. Guests can enjoy live entertainment from DJ Deacon, Tampa Funk Machine, and the Logan Grant Band, plus a Hot Dog Eating Contest at 7 pm and the exciting Boat Show Parade Turnaround at 8 pm. Family-friendly activities include carnival games, a field day zone with a rock wall, bungee trampolines, and water slides, along with a petting zoo, glitter tattoos, crafts, satellite bars, and specialty food pop-ups from Three Oaks Hospitality vendors. The evening concludes with a spectacular waterfront fireworks show from 9 - 9:15 pm, making Armature Works one of the best places to celebrate Fourth of July in Tampa Bay.

Are you ready for one of the most exciting 4th of July events in Tampa? Celebrate Independence Day at MOSI with Stars, Stripes, & Science! Enjoy live music, planetarium shows, food & drinks, science demos, and more! Guests can discover crowd favorites like the rainbow fire demo, liquid nitrogen ice cream, baseball-themed activities, games, and even a dunk tank! In the Saunders Planetarium, families can experience special presentations on the dome screen, including a sensory-friendly fireworks experience at 4.30 pm, guided star tours, and additional on-screen fireworks shows that are not designated sensory friendly. Best of all, your participation helps support MOSI’s mission to inspire curiosity and a love of science.
