For 25 years, Timucua Arts Foundation has been bringing top-tier music and art to Central Florida all in the world’s best living room concert hall. 


A highlight at the venue is its festivals, and the 2026 Timucua Opera Festival is no exception, with the annual event offering a fresh perspective on the the timeless artform.


Highlights this year include two new, original operas: a string quartet-driven piece by Nathan Felix and an International Women’s Day creation by K Lee Pearson.


Hosted by the Timucua Arts Foundation, this event highlights the venue's dedication to unique, contemporary performances, bringing new, innovative opera to Central Florida.


The annual Timucua Arts Opera Festival blends bold, modern adaptations with classic operatic compositions. Featuring a diverse program schedule with artists from both near and far, the Timucua Opera Festival carves a significant niche in the Central Florida arts community.



Presenting a world premiere of “In My Lifetime,” a piece born from the childhood poem of Timucua founder Benoit Glazer’s late daughter, this community chamber orchestra brings together the Maitland Symphony Orchestra and esteemed vocalist Sarah Purser for a heartwarming and unforgettable evening. 


Witness the birth of a new chamber opera for International Women’s Day. Classical singer Keri Lee Pierson and composer/improvisor/guitarist Jessica Ackerley partner with the Fernwood String Quartet to bring a bold new take on opera, highlighting the role of women in a story of empowerment.

Opera Del Sol's Vino e Voce (Friday, March 13th @7:30pm):Immerse yourself in a harmonious blend of music and flavor, and drink selected wines paired with the emotional depths of each aria.


Designed with children and families in mind, this show is a great way to introduce young kids to opera. Edward Barnes based his composition on a book by Thacher Hurd called “Mama Don’t Allow,” ensuring an evening of fun and inspiration for all ages.


Performing a typical baroque work exploring the lives of gods, mortals, and monsters, Opera Orlando features its outstanding 2025-26 season Studio Artists in an intimate production of Handel’s pastoral “little opera,” ACIS & GALATEA. 


A Mexican-American composer known for his immersive operas and experimental films, Nathan Felix brings a fresh new opera highlighting Hispanic/LatinX stories.

Six of the most beautiful female voices in Florida, the Helena Collective reimagines the story of the first woman through her own eyes. Blending poetry, narration, and choral works, these women offer a meditation on shame, curiosity, and resilience through an immersive program that honors the voices of womankind.


Timucua Arts Foundation is a multi-faceted institution offering performing arts, education, and wellness programs for all ages. Integrating rich live performance with visual arts, Timucua has carved a niche for high-quality, accessibly priced programming in Central Florida. From August to June, it hosts eight annual music festivals, along with regular concerts, educational opportunities, and weekly wellness events.
