Mark your calendars the 17th Annual Gumbo Wars Charity Cook-off is comin' back to historic downtown Sanford on October 11, 2025!
This year's event returns to the heart of Sanford for another year of savory showdowns and cajun cheer. featuring delicious gumbo, fantastic folks, and good times.
Get ready to taste some of the best gumbo this side of the bayou, groove to some toe-tappin' tunes, and soak up the charm of downtown Sanford. Trust us, you won't want to miss this!
Tickets must be purchased for tasting entry, either in advance or at the gate.
$20 per person presale or $30 on the day of the event gets you entry to the event, all the gumbo you care to taste, and a voting ticket for your favorite gumbo!

The Gumbo CookOff benefits deserving Juniors Angler groups, Teen Angler, Youth. and Junior Anglers Education (JAE).
The Gumbo Wars organization has supplied grants and scholarships to youth fishing organizations and conservation programs ranging well over $100,000 dollars. As a 501c3 non-profit organization, Gumbo Wars Inc. has introduced thousand of kids to fishing through its Junior Angler Education program, where volunteers teach children and their parents the value of our fragile outdoor resources, and, after the one-hour program is complete, each child receives their own fishing rod, reel, and tackle box to take home with them!
Gumbo Wars Inc. has supplied grants and scholarships to the Teen Sportfishing Association of Central Florida, Seminole Junior Anglers, Osceola Anglers, Bobby Lane Cup, Blair Wiggins Clam Restoration Project in the Indian River Lagoon, Fish Orlando Project, Captains for Clean Water, Anglers for Conservation, and the Florida Outdoor Writers Association, and multiple Florida conservation projects.
