Tampa’s Holiday Lighted Boat Parade happens this Saturday, December 17, along the Hillsborough River in Downtown Tampa.
Every year on the Saturday before Christmas, thousands of residents and visitors amass along the Riverwalk to watch the largest holiday boat parade in the area, with dozens of decorated boats sailing from the tip of Davis Islands to Sparkman Wharf.
Lighted trees, gingerbread men, and toy trains also float in the harbor, contributing even more color to the holiday spectacular.
The parade organised by Friends of the Riverwalk, begins at the southern tip of Davis Islands, travels through the Convention Center basin and up to the Heights where the boats will turn around and head to Sparkman Wharf where judging will occur and the parade will end.
All registered boats will receive prizes, with the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners of the sailboat and motorboat competitions receiving a trophy.
The festivities officially begin at 6pm.
