Stay hydrated as dangerous "feels-like" temps to reach 105 - 110 throughout Central Florida

Dangerously hot and humid conditions are expected throughout Central Florida in the days ahead, with everyone advised to stay hydrated and take breaks.

Extreme heat in Florida

As we head into the busy 4th of July weekend, The Florida Division of Emergency Management is advising residents and visitors that dangerously hot temperatures will be experienced throughout Florida in the days ahead, and is asking everyone to be prepared.

So far we have not had any official advisories or warnings from the National Weather Service, but with Central Florida is expected to sizzle with temperatures that feel like as high as 105 - 110, weather advisories are likely, and as temperatures rise, be sure to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water and avoiding strenuous outdoor activity during the hottest hours of the day.

And, if you have to head outdoors, hydration, sunscreen and breaks in the a/c are great ways to avoid heat-related illness.

As Florida experiences such high temperatures, residents and visitors are encouraged to stay hydrated and cool to avoid heat-related illnesses.
