Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer has declared his intention to retire in 2027 when his latest term is complete, kicking off the race to find his successor.
State Rep. Anna Eskamani announced her intention to run for Orlando Mayor on December 16, becoming the first, and so far, only candidate to announce that she is running for the post to replace longtime Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer who has announced that his is retiring at the end of his latest term in 2027.
Eskamani is kicking off her campaign for Mayor of Orlando with a kickoff celebration. at The Beacham.
The Democrat is inviting the community to come together for an evening of inspiration, connection, and commitment to shaping Orlando’s future for 2027 and beyond.
"I’m thrilled to bring people together as we chart a bold vision for Orlando’s future—one that prioritizes community, inclusivity, and opportunity for all,” stated Representative Eskamani. “Let’s make history together!"
The Mayoral Campaign Kickoff Celebration will take place on Monday, February 24th, 2025, from 6 pm - 8 pm at The Beacham, 46 N Orange Ave, Orlando,
This is a chance to hear directly from Eskamani about her vision for Orlando’s future.
The evening will feature speakers and special guests, including Congressman Maxwell Alejandro Frost, State House Representatives LaVon Bracy Davis and Johanna López, State Senator Carlos Guillermo Smith, and more.
The kickoff event will also feature performances by artists from The Renaissance Theatre.
