The popular “Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah” song was performed by James Baskett in Disney’s “Song of the South,” the movie on which Splash Mountain is loosely based.

The Splash Mountain log flume ride uses some of the characters and songs from Disney’s 1946 live-action and animated movie Song of the South, but does not actually tell the story of the film.

Today's removal of “Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah” from the Magic Kingdom entrance music loop coincides with today, Sunday, January 22, being the final day of operations for Splash Mountain at Walt Disney World, which features the song.

Walt Disney World have already removed the song from the Festival of Fantasy Parade in March 2022.
