Daytona Tortugas Baseball:

Taking in America’s pastime is a great way to celebrate the nation’s birthday, and Jackie Robinson Ballpark is a great venue to experience in person.

The St. Lucie Mets and the Daytona Tortugas will begin a three-game series at Jackie Robinson Ballpark on Friday, July 4 at 6:35 p.m. Holiday revelers can take in a great ballgame, buy some peanuts and Cracker Jacks, and maybe even enjoy a favorite cold beverage or two to cool things off.

And to mark the occasion in an all-American way, fireworks will light up the skies over the ballpark after the final out. The Tortugas will also wear special patriotic-themed uniforms to mark the July 4th holiday.

In addition to the parade, there will be a special July 4th Veterans Ceremony beginning at 9 a.m. by the Clock Tower between the Boardwalk and the Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront Resort at 100 North Atlantic Avenue.

The ceremony is presented by the MOPH Chapter 316, Military Officers Association of America, Halifax Chapter and sponsored by the City of Daytona Beach.
