Record crowds are expected for this year's event with hundreds of thousands set to line Cocoa Beach to catch this year's spectacle.

The weekend begins with a parade down A1A followed by a Downtown Block Party showcasing plenty of powerboats on display, food, drinks, and live music.

High speed racing will take place on Saturday and Sunday with more than 60 race teams competing for the checkered flag and the Class 1 boats reaching speeds of 175 mph.

The best viewing area is between Shepard Park and Coconuts on The Beach. Throughout the weekend, race teams from around the world will be on display in the Port Canaveral parking lot, which is open and free to the public.

VIP Packages for the best views of the racing on the Cocoa Beach Pier at Rikki Tiki Tavern available.

ABOUT THUNDER ON COCOA BEACH

Fourteen years ago, a team of four local guys decided to start Thunder on Cocoa Beach. Over the course of the years since, the Directors and longtime friends - Kerry, Mike, Rich, and Kevin - have created a family, fun-filled, four-day event that has grown in scope of race events, number of participants, ecologic attention, and effects on the local community.

Each year the team works with a local charity. For the last several years, Thunder on Cocoa Beach has partnered with “I am a Freedom Fighter”. The Cocoa Beach beaches are home to varied wildlife. The ToCB team works with the Turtle Preservation Society to ensure all protective measures possible are made to the turtle population and their habitat are protected.
