Pet Alliance’s new Orlando Shelter takes shape with roof installation underway

The construction of the brand new Pet Alliance Orlando shelter has reached an important milestone.
Pet Alliance has reached an important construction milestone for their beautiful, brand new Orlando shelter, home of the Kylie J. Capri Campus and Edward H. Hensley Adoption Center.
The roof installation is set to begin on Monday, June 22.
The 25,000 square foot space will allow for enhanced space dedicated to adoption services, a state of the art square foot veterinary space to care for ill or injured animals, disease-specific quarantine space for dogs and cats, modern shelter and indoor and outdoor play space including air conditioning for dogs, memorial and serenity area, vegetable and herb garden for enrichment and natural treats, dedicated rooms for neonatal kittens and the ability to support other shelters due to natural disasters.
Construction is conducted by H.J. High, and the design is by Borrelli + Partners. Estimated completion is February 2026.
Pet Alliance's “Almost Home” Capital Campaign is still under way to raise $17.8 million to build the new Orlando shelter and allow Pet Alliance to continue providing the highest level of care and support for dogs, cats and pet owners.

Pet Alliance was founded in 1937 as the Orlando Humane Society. Since then, the organization has worked hard to provide positive and safe outcomes for pets.
Today, Pet Alliance has a dedicated focus on the welfare and well-being of dogs and cats in Orange, Seminole and Osceola Counties.

More than 4,000 surrendered pets and homeless animals turn to Pet Alliance for caring, compassion and hope through their shelters each year.
Pet Alliance provides food, medical care and shelter for dogs and cats until they find their new homes. In addition to providing housing and care, Pet Alliance works to develop progressive and innovative programs that help keep pets and people together.
Pet Alliance also provides low-cost spay/neuter surgeries and animal wellness through their public veterinary clinics. Their shelter programs are supported entirely by donations from the community they serve.
