Pack A Sweater If Your Heading To Orlando For The Holidays, It's Going To Be Cold!

Throughout the year, Central Florida is a popular choice for travellers from all over the world, and during the holidays, record numbers of visitors descend on Orlando for lots of holly jolly fun at the theme parks and to enjoy the warm winter temperatures.

But, this year, if your packing for a trip to the sunshine state over the holidays, you might want to pack your Christmas jumpers, as well as a hat, scarf, and mittens because it looks like it's gonna be an unseasonably cold Christmas here in Orlando, with low temperatures expected just in time for the holidays.

Now, for us Florida residents who love the warm weather year round, having a cold Christmas, just for a day or two day, actually sounds pretty nice, and a great excuse to stay home, snuggle up under winter blankets, hot coco in hand, enjoying Christmas movies!

So will it be cold for the holidays, and just how cold will it get?

The truth is, a big arctic blast is definitely on its way, and it's going to bring below freezing temperatures throughout Central Florida!

Meteorologists are predicting that Central Florida will see a strong cold front beginning early next week, with much colder than average temperatures expected over the holidays, with artic air sweeping into Florida in the days leading up to Christmas.

And while we probably won't see much, if any snow like our cousins up north, it will be pretty cold for Florida!

Currently, this arctic blast is working its way East all the way from Siberia and will cross over Alaska and through the center of the United States to land down the East Coast to yes, right here in Florida!

This weekend, Saturday, December 17 will be pretty cool, with Sunday, December 18 getting pretty cold, as temperatures drop into the high 40s.

The beginning of the new week will warm up a little, but don't expect the water air to hang around, as temperatures are going to drop down again as Christmas gets near, with temperatures expected to get down as low as the 30s on December 23, yes that cold!!

Christmas Day itself is going to be cold, with temperatures hanging around the 40s.

Obviously we’re still a bit away from those dates, so things could change, but currently its looking cold for the holidays.

So our best advice is to pack those sweaters just in case!
