Oviedo Mall’s Page & Pen Book Fair returns with over 100 Authors and a Celebration of Books!

Free literary event brings authors, readers, families, and book lovers together Saturday, October 3.

Oviedo Mall will welcome more than 100 authors alongside booksellers, artists, makers and literary vendors for the Page & Pen Book Fair, returning Saturday, October 3rd from 11am-5pm, for a full day celebrating books, storytelling and the communities built around them.

Designed to be much more than a traditional book fair, Page & Pen transforms Oviedo Mall into a gathering place for readers of all ages, with opportunities to discover new authors, shop for books and bookish merchandise, participate in interactive activities and spend the day surrounded by fellow readers.

“For a lot of us, the book fair was one of the best days of the school year,” said Josh Gunderson, Marketing & Events Director for Oviedo Mall. “There was something about walking into a room filled with books, getting to choose something completely for yourself and knowing you were going home with a new story. We want Page & Pen to capture a little bit of that feeling again, just on a much bigger scale. The difference is now we're adults, nobody can tell us we already have enough books, and there is a bar.”

More than 100 participating authors will represent a wide variety of genres, giving guests the opportunity to meet writers, purchase signed books and discover stories they may not otherwise encounter. Independent booksellers, artists and bookish makers will round out the event with literary gifts, accessories, artwork and more.

Page & Pen will also feature activities throughout the day designed to make the event an experience for both dedicated readers and casual visitors.

Young readers can take part in the Great Book Worm Hunt, searching throughout the event for bookworms hidden around Oviedo Mall. Adults looking for a greater challenge can tackle The Plot Hunt, a literary riddle-based scavenger hunt that sends participants searching for clues hidden throughout the mall while attempting to avoid a few carefully placed red herrings along the way.

Additional interactive activities and surprises will be available throughout the event, giving guests plenty to explore between author visits. For readers who prefer their plot twists served over ice, Page & Pen will also feature a specialty pop-up bar with a menu of themed drinks created specifically for the event, including both alcoholic and non- alcoholic options.

The event continues Oviedo Mall’s growing calendar of unconventional community events designed to give Central Florida residents new reasons to gather, discover local creators and experience the mall in unexpected ways.

“Some of our favorite memories are tied to experiences that were incredibly simple, Gunderson said. “Picking out a book at the school book fair, spending an afternoon at the mall, finding something you didn't know you were looking for. Page & Pen brings some of those feelings together while introducing people to more than 100 authors and creators who are making entirely new stories for us to discover. If someone walks out carrying a bag of books and feeling even a little bit like the kid who couldn't wait to start reading on the ride home, we've done what we set out to do.”

Page & Pen Book Fair will take place Saturday, October 3rd from 11am-5pm, at Oviedo Mall, located at 1700 Oviedo Mall Boulevard in Oviedo, Florida. Admission is free and open to the public.
