Orlando's Deadwords Brewing to close its doors permanently in April unless an investor can be found soon

Another popular Orlando brewery is set to close in April unless a last minute rescue deal can be reached.

Orlando's Deadwords Brewing

Downtown Orlando is set to lose a popular local brewery, with the news that Deadwords Brewing, a craft brewpub operating in the Parramore District is set to close its doors forever in April.

The sad news that Deadwords is to close on April 27, 2024, or earlier if circumstances require, was posted on the companies Facebook page, and follows a filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in October.

The brewery located at 23 N. Orange Blossom Trail, opened its doors for the first time in December 2021,and is owned by by former Darden Restaurants attorney David Satterfield and industry veteran Luke Pridgeon

Deadwords said their decision to close "follows several months of negotiations with the  brewery’s landlord and the inability to reach a feasible arrangement to enable the brewery’s continued operation at its current location.”

The award-winning craft brewpub owners say that they have poured their hearts into Deadwords, and despite the challenges of delays, cost overruns, and underfunding, they are proud of the community that the've built and the memories created by the business.

"For every pint poured, for every moment shared, thank you. Though we hoped for a different ending, we are proud of the community we built together and the memories we’ve created."

Deadwords invites everyone to visit, and share a beer, before they close the doors at Deadwords. "Let’s fill these weeks with the same joy and camaraderie that have defined us."

Even though Dadwords have announced the closure, they are hoping a last minute rescue deal can help them survive. "As we navigate these final weeks, there remains a slim chance for a different outcome. We are exploring narrow, creative paths forward that require a lesser degree of additional investment." They invite anyone interested in discussing potential paths forward to reach out.
