In the past few days the Magic shook up the NBA landscape by acquiring dynamic guard Desmond Bane from the Memphis Grizzlies, and now you can catch him in action soon at Kia Center in two preseason home games.

The Orlando Magic have announced they will play two preseason home games at the Kia Center in 2025.
Orlando will host Miami on Sunday, October 12 at 6 pm, then finish the preseason schedule at home on Thursday, October 16 vs. New Orleans at 7 pm.
The Magic’s entire 2025 preseason schedule will be announced at a later date.
Single-game tickets for the 2025 preseason are on sale now. Fans can purchase tickets at OrlandoMagic.com or by calling 407-89-MAGIC.
Orlando also anounced that they will open their training camp at the AdventHealth Training Center on September 30.
The Magic shook up the NBA landscape by acquiring dynamic guard Desmond Bane from the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for guards Cole Anthony and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope along with multiple first-round picks and swap rights.
The draft picks conveyed to Memphis include: a first round draft pick in 2025 (16th overall), a first round draft pick in 2026 (which includes swap rights from either Phoenix or Washington), a first round draft pick in 2028, the swap rights to a first round draft pick in 2029 (top two protected) and a first round draft pick in 2030.

Orlando views Bane as a perfect fit for the roster. The 26-year-old shooting guard has averaged over 19 points per game in each of the last three seasons. He’s deadly from beyond the arc, knocking down 41.0 percent of his shots over the course of his career from 3-point range.
That will do wonders for an Orlando squad that shot a league-low 31.8 percent from deep over the course of the 2024-25 season.
Bane also gives the Magic another ball-handler. The TCU alum was tasked with bringing up the ball at times in Memphis – an average of 22.9 times per game – to take some of the pressure off perennial All-Star point guard Ja Morant. That’s exactly what the doctor ordered for a team like the Magic, who don’t want to decrease the effectiveness of playmaking forwards Banchero and Wagner by completely taking the rock out of their hands.
Orlando’s starting backcourt will now be much more offensively dynamic than the one that fell to the Boston Celtics in the first round of the 2025 NBA Playoffs.
Along with adding Bane, the Magic are excited for the return of guard Jalen Suggs, who is steadily progressing from a trochlea cartilage tear in his left knee that prematurely ended his season in January.
While Bane still gives Suggs a backcourt mate that can wreak defensive havoc, he also provides another shot creator that’s capable of scoring at a high level. He scored 30-plus points 17 times over the last two seasons, including a career-high 49-point performance against the Detroit Pistons on Dec. 6, 2023.
He’s also extremely efficient. In 69 regular season contests this past year, Bane averaged 19.2 points on 48.4 percent overall shooting, 39.2 percent 3-point shooting and 89.4 percent free throw shooting. He was the only player in the NBA to hit all three of those marks among qualified players.
This move sets up the Magic not only for next season, but for the years beyond. Orlando’s current expected starting lineup for the 2025-26 campaign of Suggs, Bane, Wagner, Banchero and Wendell Carter Jr. features five players, who are between 22 and 26 years old.
It also demonstrates an immense commitment by the Orlando’s owners, the DeVos family. With Bane’s salary along with the extensions of players like Suggs, Wagner and Carter kicking in, and the expected extension of Banchero, the Magic’s starting unit will have a significant price tag.
However, with what that group is capable of doing on the court, it's likely to be well worth it.
