Orlando Magic 2025 Preseason Schedule Released - Tipping Off against Miami Heat in San Juan

Orlando Magic continue to expand presence in Puerto Rico by tipping off preseason in San Juan.

The Orlando Magic will open the 2025 preseason in San Juan, Puerto Rico to play Miami on Saturday, October 4.

“We are incredibly excited to (play in Puerto Rico),” said Magic Managing Director Ryan DeVos during a joint press conference with the Heat. “We look at Puerto Rico as a continuation of our market. We've got a fantastic Puerto Rican (fan)base in Central Florida and we’re really excited to be part of (this matchup).”

Orlando is home to one of the largest Puerto Rican populations in the country, and as a result, the Magic have always had a special relationship to Puerto Rico.

That connection reached new heights in 2006 when the franchise traded for Carlos Arroyo, who was not only born in Fajardo, Puerto Rico, but was also a standout member of the Puerto Rican national team. Fans with Puerto Rican ties throughout the Central Florida region flocked to the then Amway Arena, further strengthening their bond and building lasting memories with the team.

“He was a very exciting player,” said Magic Community Ambassador Nick Anderson at the presser. “He was flashy and could do a little bit of everything. He let you know that he had arrived. That was his mentality. We’re looking forward to meeting those Magic fans (that he helped create) down in Puerto Rico.”

The team also announced the remainder of their preseason slate on Tuesday. Orlando will visit Philadelphia on Saturday, October 10 at 7 pm.

After playing at Philadelphia, Orlando will host Miami at Kia Center on Sunday, October 12 (6 pm start), then finish the preseason schedule at home on Thursday, October 16 vs. New Orleans at 7 pm.
